Players can look at the year on their cards after they take them into their hand.

1. Each player is dealt 7 cards, cards should remain year-down.
2. Players can hold cards in their hand, or arrange them in front of them, keeping all cards year-down.
3. Place the remaining deck of cards to the side, they will not be used.

The person to the left of the dealer.

1. The first player chooses a card from their hand and plays it year-up in the middle of the table. 
2. The next player (left of the dealer, moving counter-clockwise) chooses a card from their hand that is later than the last card played by the previous player. That person plays their card year-up on top of the previous player’s card. 
   • If the year on the card is more recent than the previous event, continue to the next player. 
   • If the year on the card is older than the previous, that player picks up all cards stacked and adds it, year-down, to their hand. That same player then puts down a new first card, year-up.

3. If all players have played a card in chronological order, discard the current stack of cards. The next player now puts down a new card, year-up, in the middle of the table to start a new lap.
4. Continue play until only one player remains. 
5. Knock when you have one card left.
6. The first person to run out of cards wins.
7. The person who wins 3 rounds is the ultimate champion. They shall be declared the ultimate champion and bestowed graces until a new ultimate champion is declared.

In the Event of a Tie
If two players play a card with the same year, you need to access the card section of the website to reference the event month to see who was more current.

The LeVeque Addition
If the person forgot to knock and plays their final card, they must pick up the remaining cards in the middle of the table, and swap with the person who has the most cards.
